Finally, Portland has a real deli!

With the recent opening of Kenny & Zuke's in the formerly shady area between downtown and the Pearl District, Portland finally has a deli that we can all be proud of.   Don't get me wrong, Tribute's in northwest Portland makes an incredible Italian sub (another rare find in Portland).  But, Tribute's is really more of a pizza shop and not a place where you can find a handmade pastrami on rye or some decent bagels.  While the food at Kenny & Zuke's is top notch even by New York City Jewish deli standards, their service is still a bit rough around the edges.  Each time I've stopped by for a meal, there have been mix-ups with my order, shortages of many items on the menu, and food orders served at drastically different times among people of the same party.  Hopefully, they can iron out the kinks in the next couple of weeks.  Definitely worth a visit for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.   I plan on  making sure the entire UrbanDrinks.com crew gets there asap.

I can second the recommendation for Kenny and Zuke's. I went there yesterday and had an awesome pastrami on rye. The fries were excellent as well. I'll have to try the bagels soon.. I hear they're supposed to be great as well.
